Amelia Thompson is from Southfield, Michigan and is going to be a senior in the fall at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She is doing a double major in Computer Science and Japanese language. Amelia has always been interested in writing and fashion. In her previous job she maintained a blog documenting the trials and tribulations of teaching middle schoolers to code in HTML5 and CSS3. In high school she wanted to be a fashion designer so she took it upon herself to learn how to sew and make patterns, as well as study fashion history. Even though she didn’t end up majoring in fashion in college, fashion still remains as one of her great passions in life.
Because of her Japanese classes Amelia is especially interested in Tokyo street fashion and the history of Japanese fashion. She hopes to be able to write about some aspects of Japanese fashion on BTAC when the opportunity presents itself. Amelia hopes to go on to graduate school to pursue a graphic design degree and travel to Japan after graduation.
