"Fashion changes, but style endures."
- Coco Chanel
In all honesty, I was not always interested in fashion. I remember my awkward glasses and braces phase in middle school when I still wore embroidered jeans and babydoll camis over t-shirts. The memories still make me shudder. But time turned my scrawny juvenile self into the typical shopaholic teen, and my closet quickly filled up with just about everything. It became my period of experimentation as I unknowingly discovered my style.
Love it, embrace it, and flaunt it.
And the more effortless style is, the most genuine it appears. Style through fashion is a means of self-expression to channel passion and communicate your voice. It goes beyond what you wear but also how you wear it. Carry yourself with confidence and poise and your style will naturally shine through.
My final note is that style can change. It learns, develops, and grows along with you. Currently, my style is feeling Alice + Olivia's Spring 2013 Collection. Now that I am officially done with freshman year and the cold Boston winter is far behind me, all I can think about are neons and florals for summer.
