Lauren hails from the small town of Port Carbon, Pennsylvania where her passion for writing started in an even smaller publications room in the basement of her high school. After writing her first article about style and trends for her high school newspaper, she was hooked and knew that a career as a fashion journalist was the perfect fit for her. During her junior and senior years of high school, she attended Teen Vogue Fashion University and many Columbia University journalism workshops that further fostered her love of New York City and all things fashion. Lauren attends Pennsylvania State University at University Park, where she studies print journalism and is a reporter and copy editor for The Daily Collegian newspaper. She is so honored and excited to be a part of the BTAC team because it is the perfect way to combine her love of fashion journalism with her passion for helping others. Lauren is actively involved in Penn State Dance Marathon otherwise known as THON, which is aimed to help in the fight against pediatric cancer and is the world’s largest student-run philanthropy. Similar to THON, Better Than A Cupcake helps children feel special and express themselves but also provides a unique outlet for designers to showcase their amazing talent. Lauren hopes to one-day work for a major fashion magazine and she feels that BTAC is the perfect opportunity for her to share her voice and work toward her dream.
