Sydney Bellows is from Winter Park, Florida. She started Better Than A Cupcake to defeat the ever-popular counter, “You can’t start a company—you’re too young.” Not only did she prove that stereotype wrong, but she also created a venue for countless others her own age to share their talents with the fashion industry. Sydney is passionate about showcasing the unique designs of young people and by helping them, giving back to the community at large. Sydney believes that young designers deserve prominent influence in New York fashion and in changing circumstances the young children who have not been so lucky. She is determined to spark that influence and watch it grow.
Katie Hay is a proud Texan, born and raised in Dallas. Katie studied at Texas A&M University and currently lives in New York. Katie joined the BTAC team to pursue three of her loves: words, clothes and encouraging children in need. She works in retail, is addicted to thrift stores, and she also worked as a children’s counselor for Youth Impact, an organization in Texas aiding children with rough home environments. Katie edits the BTAC blog, as she is passionate about showcasing the unique opinions of the BTAC team in writing. She previously edited the Culture section of the Empire State Tribune and is a current reporter for Sparknotes Mindhut. Gig ‘em!
William Reed is a Florida native and a New Yorker at heart. He spends his spare time teaching children at the John McEnroe Tennis Academy in Manhattan as well as playing piano & guitar. He’s been with Bold Talent from the beginning, initially hired on to revamp the brand’s blog site, Better Than A Cupcake. With a similar ideology and desire to give back to a great cause, his work with Bold Talent quickly turned into a passion. Now, as Creative Director, he oversees branding, marketing and diversifying the publicity and artists involved in Bold Talent. William is very excited to be a part of something that promotes creativity and individuality in New York City’s up-and-comers!
Meredith Albury was born and raised in the Abaco, Bahamas and is now a pursuing a degree in Graphic Design at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. Meredith has a passion for ad design and package design with a keen sense for style and fashion. Meredith’s focus within BTAC is designing the advertising products, posters, and accessories. She previously worked for Abaco city's newspaper as an ad designer and photojournalist, in addition to working for Friends Of The Environment, a volunteer based conservancy organization, to promote awareness about the local oceans and environment.
Marissa is a freshman at the University of Delaware, having moved there from her home in Odenton, Maryland. At UD she is currently studying apparel design, hoping to one day design her own collection for Fashion Week. Besides being involved with the fashion department she is also involved with the UD club softball team. When sketching designs she looks for inspiration from celebrities, such as, Lauren Conrad and Taylor Swift. She loves to spend free time flipping through magazines and searching the internet for new trends and inspiration.
